We are pretty happy with our new home at Malone's so come down and help us keep this thing going. The saturday things seems to be working out nicely. Drinking on weekends easier then drinking on weekdays, who knew?

So come on down! registration starts at 9pm and we will start races as soon as we have a few of them ready to roll as it were.

Globe Roller Racing June 18th at UBC Pit Pub

Hey kids,

i have a very special sprint coming up on the 18th of this month at UBC that i can guarantee you will be worth your time.

for the last bit a few of my friends, The TREK coalition and i have been talking to specialized about putting on some big stuff, and the 18th at the UBC Pit is our first little foray into this.

Specialized is putting up some great stuff, EMT survival kits, Tactic helmets, BG Equinox gloves, wool socks, Jerseys, all kinds of stuff that ther north west cyclist needs, and the list goes on.

Not only that, but Zip Car is also getting involved and the grand prize will be a weekend with a convertible Mini cooper, in addition to several subscriptions to the service. With summer coming up this has to be worth coming out for right?

we also have several messenger bags that will be raffled off made out of reclaimed banners. each one is one of a kind and can not be obtained anywhere else.

Also 1/3rd of every ticket goes to the UBC TREK coalition, working hard to find transportation alternatives for all the kids out there.

the bottom line is if we really blow this thing out of the water there could be big big things down the road.

the weather is getting better and better as the months go on. And so Gastown sprints is going to be taking a little break during the summer.

THAT MEANS THIS IS THE LAST ONE BEFORE WE BREAK FOR SUMMER.

we will be coming back when it gets cold and terrible out again, but for now this will be your lost opportunity to get in that sweet sweet roller racing.

I am definitely limiting registration to the main race so show up at 8. This will hopefully allow those who want to be fast to be fast, and those who want to throw down against their friends to do that and not have to stay until 2am to do it.

All right everybody. Two weeks!

Here we go for our first Sprint in our new fabulous location. Same awesome roller racing excitement, just at a new venue.

Registration will begin at 8:00pm, $5 dollars at the door. There has been talk of limiting registration to make sure that we have time for grudge matches at the end of the night, so make sure to come early.

December 16th, Cash prizes, Tell all your friends, we are going to try to make this one really pop.

Gastown Sprints moves to The Astoria Hotel Dec. 16th

Hey kids,

Just a quick update, we are moving the date and the location for the foreseeable future. Pub 340 is shutting down for a few months for renovations and in the mean time we are moving to The Astoria Hotel.

I'm pretty stoked, the space is bigger, The stage is higher, and I think i might even be able to hook up a mic to the sound system so i don't have to lose my voice:)

The new info is The Astoria Hotel, 8:00pm December 16th $5 at the door.

Also since i have a little more time on my hands I'm getting in touch with Phil Wood, Velocity, Red Bull, Eighth Inch, and anyone else who might have an advertising budget for this kind of stuff. I will have sweet non cash prizes or die trying.

Tell all of your friends, come down. I'll put an event posting together as soon as i get artwork. We need people to fill the new bigger space.

Hey people, just a reminder that the First of the Gastown Sprints Roller Series is going down at Pub 340 on Wednesday June 3rd. Qualifying starts at 9:00pm $5 at the door, cash prizes and swag.

Its here people. We have all the details pretty much nailed down. PUB340 is being awesome and letting us take over their space for some hardcore roller sprinting starting on June 3rd. This is going to be a sixth month race series. Each month we will have another event, most likely the first Wednesday, but that might shift depending on holidays. There will be a cash purse every night as well as swag, but there will also be a grand prize for the winner of the series. All that to be determined once Phil Wood sees how awesome this whole thing is.

There will be a five dollar cover at the door, which pays for the purse, the prizes, the DJ etc. Once you are in the door anybody can race. There will be a qualifying round, then the ten best times will be selected for male and female and seeded brackets will be run. We may have to scale down the brackets depending on how many people show up and how long it all takes.

Any questions, click on the link to the right and drop us an e-mail. We want to blow this up as big as possible, so tell all of your friends. I think this will be pretty rockin.

We have had a few little test events around van city. Much love to Jeff for letting us take over his birthday party. Everything worked like a charm. Should be settling on a date for the first official sprint very very soon.
